Communications Advisor - Contract

The Why

Our client is a new kind of organisation, one that’s as supportive and socially conscious as it is agile and explorative. Their DNA is around having a commercial mind and social heart and it captures who they are at the core. Due to a number of significant high profile projects starting, they are now looking to hire a Communications Advisor to help deliver a range of important messages.

The What

Oversee the delivery of communication programs that promote, enhance and build image and reputation.

  • Work with the communications team and business stakeholders to provide practical and timely support on all aspects of corporate communications.

  • Contribute to identifying emerging public issues.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate communications strategies, including in collaboration with the broader communications team.

  • Project manage the development and production of corporate communications products such as high profile speeches and presentations, press statements, media releases, social media content, stakeholder communications and key corporate publications.

  • Monitor and report on media coverage.

  • Build and maintain collaborative and responsive relationships with the Minister’s Office, key media contacts, colleagues and others to continually achieve progress on shared objectives.

  • Maintain knowledge of organisations responsibilities, activities and operations in an environment of conflicting and changing priorities to ensure that advice is provided within current contexts.

  • Provide advice to key stakeholders that reflects contemporary best practice and aligns with corporate policies and procedures.

  • Staying abreast of public issues and other factors likely to impact the way the organisation communicates externally.

The How

  • 3+ years experience in Public Relations and Communications in an issues-rich environment.

  • Strong written and spoken communication skills

  • Experience working across Insurance, Health or Government would be preferable

  • Degree in communications, business or a related disciplines
